Brew Number 63

  • Gumpy's "Boston Cream" Ale kit
  • 1.7 kg Grumpy's Medium Bittered LME (25 IBUs)
  • Wyeast #1728 (Scottish Ale) (1st generation - 26/1/07)

Was brought out to 23L. Used fermenter #1.

Apparently the yeast has an apparent attenuation of 69% If that is so the final gravity should be...
FG = (SG - 1000) * (1 - AA/100) + 1000 
   = ((1043 - 1000) * (1 - 69/100)) + 1000
   = 1013.3

Notes
  • Boiled with finishing hops for 2 minutes.
  • Used 200mL of the 2nd generation starter made on 26/10/07.
  • Temperature set at 14C.
  • Sparged with ~300mL of hot water.
  • Used 160g of priming sugar.
  • Got 59 375mL stubbies from 23L of beer.
