Brew Number 60

  • Gumpy's "Belfast Gold" Stout kit
  • 1.7 kg Grumpy's Dark LME (34 IBUs - approx, had hop oil additive)
  • Wyeast #1332 (Northwest Ale) (1st generation - 29/11/07)

Was brought out to 19L. Yeast pitched at 31.06C. Used fermenter #1.

Apparently the yeast has an apparent attenuation of 69% If that is so the final gravity should be...
FG = (SG - 1000) * (1 - AA/100) + 1000 
   = ((1057 - 1000) * (1 - 69/100)) + 1000
   = 1017.7

Notes
  • Boiled with finishing hops for approx 3 minutes.
  • Used 200mL of the 1st generation starter made on 29/11/07.
  • Fermented at 24C (top of its range but I'm in a hurry).
  • Used 120g of priming sugar.
  • Got 58 375mL stubbies from 19L of beer.
