Simple Wooden Raft A simple wooden raft anchored to the bottom of a pond the source of our fun I balance on the slippery wood it rocks gently beneath my feet looking down at Josh his muscular arms cut through the water looking over at Ryan and Erin- still dry A strong hand grabs my ankle robbing me of my balance I reach out grab an arm as my world turns upside down and I submerge Resurfacing, I see Erin floundering beside me hair no longer neatly arranged look up at Ryan he leaps over all of us skinny arms flailing all the way to the water The four of us haul our wet bodies out of the water and back onto a simple wooden raft anchored to the bottom of a pond |
