Winter Romance

Light snowflakes
drift lazily downward
from the obsidian sky.

A single t-shirt
offers little protection
from the brisk night wind.

"Want to share my coat?"
her invitation
for more than just warmth.

Accepting, clumsily, nervously
I move into warm arms.

Lips come together
awkwardly at first.
Their heat contrasts
cold air all around.

Curfews demand they separate
but long after she starts her car
and drives away
the memory remains
of a boys first kiss.
