Fiery Youth

Anger burns inside him
a kid that can't win
fails at school and sports
but passes drug abuse with flying colors.

Violence is an outlet
for the flames of rage
that drugs can't quite extinguish
but broken windows can't fix broken dreams.

So the anger smolders
waiting for the next splash of gasoline
the next parent, teacher, girlfriend
that he fails.

"RAA!" he screams to the world
Rebel Against Authority
spray paint makes a permanent record
of the sentiments of a scorched soul.
